Science Crazed  (1991)
Tagline(s):Something is very wrong in research and development
Nomination Year: 2021
SYNOPSIS:

A mad scientist injects a woman with an untested growth serum. She dies, but gives birth to a full-grown monster. Tries to be a noir detective film with a monster...but fails.

This film was a nightmare. A budged of maybe ten bucks. Clearly, the writer/producer/director/editor finished the film much later, wanted to re-take some scenes, but the actors moved on. So he overdubbed the voices HIMSELF. Even a FEMALE.

Nerve Gas Tests
The congresswoman wants nerve gas tests in France... Canada... United States... Italy... Japan... South Korea... Taiwan... Germany... Spain... England... Mexico... and on and on in an endless, pointless litany. Then the fiend comes and kills her. Thank God.

Smithee Award Winner! Stupidest-Looking Monster
Fiend and Montage of Hallways
The Fiend "stalks" his prey. Their reactions range from disgust to indifference. But no real fear. I think the shots of hallways is meant to use up screen time...

Worst Science
Chromosomes, Genes, and Pencil-Poking
Frank was a genius. He made a man with embryos, chromosomes, and genes.

Smithee Award Winner! "Whoops!"
[No Sound]...[No Sound]...Wait Here
Clearly some dialogue was missing from the soundtrack. He clearly mouths "Wait here" twice before -- third time's the charm -- you hear "Wait here" somewhat out of sync.

Smithee Award Winner! Crummiest Ending
Death of Inspector and Crummy Ending
The inspector confronts the Fiend in a parking garage. He's wounded. But manages to shoot it. It bleeds green. The Inspector dies...slowly. Along comes the other guy and machete-chops the fiend...I guess. It bleeds red. And dies. Geez, that's all it took? Kiss. "He..." "Yeah. He's dead." "He saved our lives." Kinda? I guess? Drippy fiend opens its eyes. The End.

Worst Picture
Pool Murders
These swimmers are attacked by the fiend. While disturbed, they hardly seem terrified, even when a woman is killed before their eyes. After she's dead, one guy confronts the fiend with half-hearted swearing and is tossed out of the pool.

Shooting Blanks
Finally, someone with a gun confronts the fiend! But...the gunshots don't match the gun! And they all miss at a 4-foot distance!
