Rebel Storm  (1990)

Nomination Year: 2004
SYNOPSIS: It's after the (unspecified) apocalypse. Environmental disaster has turned most of the country to desert. The U.S. is a theocracy ruled by televangelist President Jimmy Bob II. History classes teach how the nation was a corrupt den of iniquity run by the Zionists and Lesser Races before being freed by President Jimmy Bob I. Wealth is concentrated in the hands of the privileged few, while most people live in communal barracks and eat gruel. But there is still hope: The Kruppfelders, rebel followers of Kruppfeld, the martyred evangelist of the one philosophy that can bring the theocracy down and set the people free: Rock & Roll!

Hey, Gimli, You Want Fries with That?
As in all post-apocalyptic futures, collectors will pay exorbitant sums for pop culture icons from before the fall. This, of course, can only end in tragedy. Death by Big Boy.

I Only Joined the Theocracy for the Hot Chicks
The (topless female) soldiers of the theocracy respond to a rebel attack. We've seen a lot of soldiers of the theocracy before and none of them have ever been female. Furthermore, misogyny is an important part their theology, so female soldiers go against everything the theocracy stands for. Plus, it's the State of the Union Address and viewing is compulsory, so everybody not on duty should be watching.
