Shapeshifter  (2005)
Nomination Year: 2006
SYNOPSIS: A tattooed man in jail. No, not that plot, much worse. The tattooed man in this case is a shapeshifting demon unleashed by the Romanian mob to whack an incarcerated stoolie -- or so it would seem. Actually, he's there to free the ex-mobster so he can lead him to some stolen money. He terrorizes the prison in a gorefest of cheap effects. One guy (Pedro) dies by getting his leg chewed on and he starts spitting up blood for some reason. Guess you know he's dead. Oh, and it's not much of a shapeshifter -- it has one form. Just a guy who can "monster out," really.

She Can Adversely Affect My Morality Any Day
Her almost-dishonorable discharge was for "adversely affecting the morality and motivation" of her platoon. Morality?? I think, perhaps, they meant morale.

Doesn't Look Right to Me, Either
The tattooed guy digs an amulet out of his own arm, then starts...praying, or something. Some kind of mystical ritual. The lady guard protagonist sees it on the monitor, but it all comes off as hilarious rather than creepy -- they speed up the film and use superimposed images.

Unsafe Snacks
Shapeshifter snacks on a john. Some gratuitous nudity here, and a stupid-looking demon-thing, and a nice Whoops! when the hooker clearly screams with her mouth closed.
