In the distant future, anyone can be brought back from the dead, as long as you extract their liquid soul and have enough money for a new body. Idle rich guy Michael Paré and his family spend their lives traveling around the galaxy in their private starship as space tourists. Or at least they did, until Michael crashed the ship, killing his wife and daughter. He had the money to fix the ship and bring back his daughter, but that wiped out his savings and the two of them eek out a living as interstellar traders while trying to save up enough money to resurrect mom. Unfortunately, while grounded for overdue maintenance, Michael pisses off a local crime boss and he and his daughter have to flee in their semi-repaired ship. Luckily, they happen upon a nearly abandoned space station where they get a lead on the location of the Deep Star, a long-lost ship said to have been carrying a fabulous treasure. Unluckily, Michael Paré is not the only washed-up D-lister in this movie -- Olivier Gruner and his gang of space pirates are also after the treasure. Michael and daughter must dodge the crime boss's minions, Olivier's pirates, and a menagerie of poorly animated alien monsters to see who will be the first to find the wreck of the Deep Star and salvage its legendary treasure. But is the treasure real ... or is it just bait in a sinister trap? Never fear, though, the treasure for bad movie fans is real -- the climactic fistfight between an aging Michael Paré and an aging Oliver Gruner is everything you imagined it would be.
