Shredder Orpheus  (1990)
Nomination Year: 2011
SYNOPSIS: It's the story of Orpheus and Eurydice. Except, instead of ancient Greece, it's set in a post-apocalyptic refugee camp. Orpheus is the lead guitarist in the heavy metal band Shredder and Eurydice is one of his dancers. His golden lyre is a limited-edition electric guitar designed by Jimi Hendrix. Hades and Persephone are the hosts of a late night TV talk show. And everybody rides skateboards all the time.

Most Ludicrous Premise
Quite literally Hellevision
A soul-sucking TV program. Oh, and in the movie, there's also a TV program that sucks people's souls. I could listen to Persephone talk about waves and particles forever ... forever ... forever....

Worst Special Effect
Orpheus Has a High Percentage in Lyre
Orpheus's music effect is the height of late-1960s special effects. I think it's also how they did the original black-and-white "Doctor Who" credits.

Praise the Ray!
