Zombies vs. Strippers  (2012)
Nomination Year: 2014
SYNOPSIS: The title just about says it all. What’s weird (for me, anyhow) is that when my friends and I stuck this in the DVD player, we had just watched Ooga Booga, whose last scenes were all about Hambo, the creepy alcoholic pig-clown. This DVD was from a completely different collection, with absolutely no indication that it was a Full Moon production, and Mike even said something to the effect of, “At least this one won’t have Hambo in it.” Nothing could have prepared us for the opening shot—a closeup of the main character’s license plate which reads “I <3 HAMBO.” We rewound it three times and rubbed our eyes. “I’ve finally been driven insane,” I thought. No such luck, because I’m sure I’d have been able to hallucinate a better movie. Turns out by sheer, mad coincidence, I popped in the only other Full Moon film that features Hambo… The plot? What you’d expect. Just the strange trials and tribulations of a failing titty bar on the day of the zombie apocalypse. Oddly enough, I didn’t recommend any “Let’s Up the Rating” clips—nudity was simply a fact of nearly every scene and (at least peripherally) related to the plot, despite being a transparent device to get breasts in every shot.
