Duel to the Death  (1983)
[+]
A Duel to the Death
Nomination Year: 2018
SYNOPSIS: Every ten years the martial arts schools of China and Japan vie to see who has the best fighting style. They do this by sending a representative of each nation to Holy Sword Temple to fight a duel - usually to the death. Thus the name of the film. This year though, something is different. Someone is using the contest to kidnap the greatest Kung Fu masters in China. It's up to the Chinese "Lord of the Sword" Ching Wan and his samurai opponent Hashimoto to set things right. Even though that means that, in the end, one of them will wind up killing the other.

So Action-Packed, Your Head Will Explode
Hashimoto is fighting Kenji the ninja leader. Hashimoto cuts off Kenji's arm (which doesn't slow him down much). Kenji leaps out of his clothes to avoid being stabbed. Finally Hashimoto decapitates Kenji, sending the head flying through the air where it's impaled on a stick. The disembodied head then opens its eyes and tells Hashimoto, "You're going to die anyway!" and explodes, failing to kill Hashimoto.

"Buddha Be Praised!"
The old monk is walking along when--a GIANT NINJA attacks! The battle is about to commence, when...the giant splits into about five regular-sized ninjas, who burrow in the sand or something. After some more fighting, a female ninja appears! She, uh...flips out of her clothes and attacks naked. Problably a distraction tactic. And it works! The monk pauses to give thanks: "Buddha be praised!"
