The Hand  (1981)
Nomination Year: 1993
SYNOPSIS: Michael Caine stars as an artist whose career starts a downward spiral when his hand is severed in a car accident. From then on, he has premonitions about the hand while people around him begin to die under mysterious circumstances, strangled. Why, this looks like the work of an animated severed hand! The police eventually discover that the artist went homicidally insane when his hand was chopped off and was killing the victims himself. This self-propelled murderous Hand was only a figment of his deranged imagination...or was it?

I Want a Lover With a Slow, Independently-Mobile, Homicidal, Severed Hand...
Michael is home when one of his female students pays him a visit. She shows him her sketchbook, starts talking about some mundane stuff in her life, then bluntly switches the conversation to how she likes the way Michael looks at her ass. In the next motion, she's got her shirt off and is fondling herself in front of him, saying, "I'm kind of old-fashioned. I like to make it in bed." The look on Michael's face is precious: "Duhhh. Okay." Totally abrupt and inappropriate.
