Phase IV  (1974)
[+]
(Foreign Titles)
Nomination Year: 1992
SYNOPSIS: No, it's not the third sequel in the little-known "Phase" series. It's a flick about how ordinary ants can become intelligent, given enough stimulus by man. A group of scientists lock themselves in a dome in the middle of the desert and observe an enormous super-colony of ants. The ants try to kill them in various clever ways, eventually overcoming Man's much-vaunted technology. What happens to the scientists after they're captured? Only the ants know...and they're not telling.

"WHAT?!"
Revenge for That Kid with the Magnifying Glass
We're supposed to believe that ants are intelligent and industrious enough to build (overnight, mind you) a series of about sixty perfectly aimed, perfectly reflective mirrors that are meant to bake the humans in their dome.
