After the Apocalypse... Humanity Will Rise Again.
Nomination Year: 2025
SYNOPSIS:
A meteor has crashed into the Earth, destroying human civilization by causing the doors to fall off all the cars and giving some people mutant super powers. Unfortunately, in Lance Henrickson's post-apocalyptic city-state, being a mutant is punishable by death. Our hero is a mutant. He is captured. He escapes. He is chased. His car goes over a huge cliff and doesn't explode. He nearly dies anyway. He is saved by other mutants.
The other mutants go back to Lanceville, where they live in secret. One outs herself. She is captured and scheduled for execution. Our hero returns and rescues her. The mutants flee. Lance has a baby. A Magical Negro prophesies that the baby will save humanity. Our hero goes back to rescue the baby. He gets the baby. He escapes. He is captured by White Goth Tina Turner and forced to fight in the Thunderdumb.
He beats one of Lance's Lackeys. He then has to fight the Magical Negro. They team up, rescue the baby, and escape the Thunderdumb while White Goth Tina Turner whines ineffectually. Meanwhile, the mutants split up so that the ones with no character development can get killed. The hero, the Magical Negro, and the surviving mutants meet up and escape. Lance finds them. There is a final battle, complete with shockingly obvious revelations, dramatic sacrifices, and trite prophecies. The Magical Negro assures us that the prophecies have been fulfilled, civilization will be reborn, and the hero will wander off in search of the sequel.
