SYNOPSIS: Rutger Hauer is a British mercenary hired by Carol Alt to retrieve her kidnapped son from her estranged husband's father (Omar Sharif). Granddad wants the kid to be his heir, and the future Emir of a fabulously wealthy desert tribe. Mom has a problem with this, for some reason. She insists on accompanying Rutger on the mission and the predictable hijinks ensue.

Inane Dialogue
Except for Them
"Nobody would rescue you." Flash grenade! Cavalry!
Worst Acting
Adel El Gabry, Arabian Badness
Adel El Gabry plays the Arabic gentleman conversing with Rutger Hauer in this scene. He not only holds his own against Rutger (no slouch), he eclipses Rutger in terms of sheer badness.
Very blond, ruggedly handsome Dutch
action
star who's extremely prolific in sci-fi
and action
films, both pretty good and very Bad.
Played
the main android Roy Batty in
Blade
Runner, whose ad-libbed "Tears in
the
Rain" speech will bring you to those
tears.
An Egyptian actor celebrated as one of the
best of all time, certainly not a name you'd
expect to find in the Smithees--but every
actor has to pay bills, I guess... Best
known for Sherif Ali in Lawrence of
Arabia and Yuri in Doctor
Zhivago, but has done much else.
Very famous actor, both comedic and dramatic,
made famous as the original Trapper John in
M*A*S*H (the movie), Marlowe in
The Long Goodbye, Ted of
Bob & Carol & Ted &
Alice, and conman Reuben Tishkoff in
the Ocean's Eleven,
Twelve, and
Thirteen series (the remakes). Also voiced Kim
Possible's dad.
One of Hollywood's busiest actors of the
late '50s/early '60s, he's known for
playing Douglas Michelson in The
Godfather Part III, Philippe
Delambre in Return of the
Fly and even voiced Bolivar Trask
on "X-Men: The Animated Series."
