Resort to Kill
Nomination Year: 2004
SYNOPSIS: The "Signature Killer" is the scourge of the city, brutally mutilating the women he murders. Tough cop Jack Keller (Roddy Piper) tracks him to a remote island in the Carribean. There he uncovers a plot involving a woman scientist (Meg Foster) who has found a way to exploit a native root which, when administered to a person -- preferably a big, dumb, musclebound man -- in combination with high levels of adrenaline, turns them immortal (except for fire and decapitation). Jack teams up with his partner J.J. (Sonny Chiba) and a hard-nosed lady reporter to take down this ring of killers, ninjas (yes, ninjas), mad scientists, and mercenaries. Lots of dumb, overblown fighting and wrestling and martial arts. Oh, and Bad Acting.

Fetal Chromosites!
The root, found only on this island, must be administered in a certain way, and the victim must then be killed while in a high state of arousal -- the kind only a human hunt can bring. If it's all done right, they come back to life as unkillable soldiers, thanks to the "fetal chromosites" in their blood. I wonder if the Jedi Council knows about this.

We Can Only Hope
Roddy is dangling from some vines over a deadly waterfall drop. He yells to JJ: "One of these days I'm going to wake up and realize how really STUPID I am!" Couldn't have said it better myself.

"Cutting Butter With A Chainsaw"
Necessary Force?
It's kind of a long clip, but necessary to illustrate the point. It's a flashback as Roddy explains to his Chief about the botched "Signature Killer" party arrest the other night. He, Sonny Chiba, and another Asian cop crash this high society party, at which are a lot of arms dealers, drug dealers, and (they think) the Signature Killer. There's also a no-rules fighting contest in progress. The whole thing is presided over by a mysterious woman. When the cops' cover is blown, Roddy is forced into the contest and wins. Things get violent from there. Essentially, the three cops move in and kick everyone's ass for a very long time.
