Skinwalkers
Nomination Year: 2008
SYNOPSIS: Werewolf? THERE wolf. This time Navajo ones. "Skinwalkers." See, some of the werewolves are baddies who like the power, and the rest want to be human again and view it as a curse. An ancient prophecy says a 13-year-old half-breed boy will end all skinwalkers at the full Red Moon. When the moon turns red, the bad werewolves (of which there are only four, I guess) close in on the boy...which is when the fun begins. Or not. Oh, and the plot thickens when it's revealed that the boy is the lead Bad Wolf's son. The whole thing, especially the ending, is very
Terminator 2, even down to the climactic battle in the steel mill and (the incredibly hot) Rhona Mitra's uncanny resemblance to Linda Hamilton (with a dash of Angelina Jolie tossed in).

More Than Silver Bullets? After a loooooooong shootout, Nana's been shot about a dozen times, yet granny's a tough old broad. And she's packing lots of heat. As the group speeds away from the bad werewolves, Granny shoots one bullet at the gas station 75 yards away. BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!! "I can't believe it!" someone says afterward. Neither can I.

Don't Open the Door! If a skinwalker tastes human blood, it turns evil. They captured the hot blonde and made her feed. So when she returned under mysterious circumstances, everyone was relieved...until this. She's just killed her fiance, now she's going to kill her father. She sweetly asks Timmy to open the door (so she can kill him) while Uncle Jonas screams "No! Don't open the door!" and Mommy says "Sit down, don't open the door." What does Timmy do? Hm... Oh, yeah, and those lockdown buckles that have held full-fledged werewolves in check night after night? They give way when daddy uses normal human strength. Just in time to shoot his daughter the instant before she rips Timmy's throat out. Poignant. And stupid.
